The power and the humor never got along. Humor opponent and ruling temper is not so rigid characteristics that can be awarded to one another. Also, the opposition is cranky when he loses his temper and some governments may look good humor.
But those are the rules in the Argentine political humor and of any democratic country, or should be.
The worst is when the mood of a country is put at the service of foreign powers, much like the recent misinformation journalism hegemonic. Feeling
embarrassment, rescued, to compensate, at least, the Argentine humor, two drawings published respectively in the satirical newspaper "Don Quixote" and the magazine "Faces and Masks", both by the end of the nineteenth century with a few years apart, showing in different circumstances, the aspirations of two characters throughout history, have not been able to hide their relationship. The first one shows Uncle Sam in a curious form of fishing, and the caption reads:
"With some importance Homeric mistake this fool, the employer and the employers, and home to America. "
another picture appears in the John Bull for arbitration - oh, a coincidence! also to fishing, with this caption:
"Although the line has taken,
entangled in the background,
must not go without fish,
because it is man accustomed
to fish it deeper. "
